Cities, and modern cities especially, are a continuously source of fascination to me.
That may be because of the colors, fashion or buildings. But more significantly about the people waling around in it. How they move, behave and interact. In that I see a incongruous flowing togetherness.
Between 2007 an 2009 I started to merge people and modern cities literally together in my paintings.
The images shown in this section are the first of these works. Generally painted in black and white.
Some of them I painted on large lace curtains. I call them my large portables because when folded up they fit in a small shopping bag. |
